ISTANBUL - Industry and Trade Minister Ali Coskun said on Saturday that a new stand-by agreement would not be signed with the IMF at the end of 2004.
Speaking at a meeting in Istanbul, Coskun said that lack of confidence was the cause of economic crises in Turkey, but it was removed after the general elections on November 3, 2002.
Regarding relations with the IMF, Coskun said, ''we won't make a new stand-by deal with the IMF at the end of this year. We are saving the Turkish economy from intervention.''
