Italian star Ornella Muti will arrive in Ankara for the "Fashionset" where 50 costumes-- prepared by famous Italian fashion house Annamode for cinema-- are exhibited and drew great attention in Rome and Istanbul.
"Fashionset" exhibition which has opened at Taksim Art House within the scope of the 26th International Istanbul Film Festival will also open in Ankara`s Ankamall Shopping Center on April 29th. The exhibition, which will be inaugurated by Italian Ambassador in Ankara Carlo Marsili as well as Ornella Muti, displays clothes of a period from 1900s till 1960s.
Costumes of many famous actors/actresses like Sophia Loren, Claudia Cardinale, Ingrid Bergman and Scarlett Johansson will be exhibited. The most precious piece of the exhibition is the costume which Claudia Cardinale wore in "Il Bell`Antonio".
According to curators, the costumes have their worth from the person who wore them as well as from the movie they were used. The costumes were for the first time exhibited last year at International Rome Film Festival. The exhibition which is comprised of 50 costumes will be displayed in Ankara between April 29th and May 20th.
The oldest costume in the exhibition is the dress which was wore by Maria Schell in the movie "Le Notti Bianche" and designed by Piero Tosi in 1957. There are also costumes which were wore by Claudia Cardinale in "Il Bell`Antonio", Sophia Loren in "Matrimonio all`Italana", Liza Minelli and Ingrid Bergman in "Nina" and Maria Schell in "Le Notti Bianche".
Ankara`s Ankamall Shopping Center DG Alev Kahraman said that they are excited to host such an exhibition in Ankara. Kahraman stressed that holding the exhibition in a shopping center rather than a museum or exhibition center will draw the attention of more people.
Noting that Muti will visit Ankara for the first time, Kahraman said that Muti will also hold a press conference during the inauguration of the exhibition on April 29th, and she will also tour Ankara.
