ISTANBUL - "Turkey`s Women Entrepreneur Competition" was held by Garanti Bankasi and Economist magazine.
Taking the floor at the ceremony, Garanti Bankasi Director General Ergun Ozen said that they prepared a package of financial assistance for women entrepreneurs in Turkey eight months ago, noting that women were the most important guaranty of social and economic stability in Turkey.
Nafiz Karadere, deputy director general of Garanti Bankasi, said that 750 women entrepreneurs have benefited from the package of financial assistance so far, noting that the bank gave credits of 17 million YTL (one dollar equals 1.36 YTL) to them.
On the other hand, Berna Ilter, the founder of BRN International Consultation and Foreign Trade Corp., was ranked the first in "Turkey`s Woman Entrepreneur Competition". Her company exported textile products to several countries. Hatice Golgun Akca, the founder of Doruk Chemical company, was ranked the second and Zeynep Oztekin, the founder of Pan Agriculture Natural and Organic Foodstuff Corp., was ranked the third in the competition.
