DAVOS - Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan said on Friday that 10-15 percent of shares of Turkish Airlines (THY) would be sold by public offering.
Unakitan, who came to Davos, Switzerland to attend annual meeting of World Economic Forum (WEF), told reporters that Turkey wanted to sell 10-15 percent of THY shares by public offering and continued efforts to that end.
''If works are concluded soon, THY will go public this year. Tenders to sell Atakoy Marina, Atakoy Crown Plaza and Galleria will be opened soon. Efforts to privatize lottery service also continue. Tenders will be opened soon to privatize energy distribution lines in certain places. Energy and Natural Resources Ministry and Privatization Administration Board are working on it. State-run Tobacco and Liquor Administration Tekel will also be sold but initiatives can't be completed till February,'' Unakitan said.
Unakitan guessed income to be gained from privatization of oil company Tupras as 1.5 billion U.S. dollars.
