ANKARA - Parliament adopted on Thursday the law that ratified the agreement signed with United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) for foundation of the world's first international hydrogen research centre in Turkey.
The agreement foresees foundation of a centre to develop common technology with 171 countries about hydrogen, which is described as the energy source of the future and which has been started to be used in various technologies as an alternative to other energy sources which are lessening.
Hydrogen Technologies Research Centre (HETEM) will start its studies in Istanbul this year. Turkey will give 40 million dollars to HETEM project in five years.
