Venice And Islamic World" Exhibition Kicks Off In N.Y.C.

NEW YORK - An exhibition entitled "Venice and the Islamic World" was inaugurated in New York, USA today.
The exhibition, opened in NYC's renowned "The Metropolitan Museum of Art", examines the relationship and interaction between Venice and the Islamic world, over a thousand year period starting from 828 lasting till 1797.
The exhibition also aims to explain how Venice, which was a commercial, political, and diplomatic center on the shores of the Mediterranean, was affected by the Islamic world in terms of art and culture.
While paintings of Ottoman emperors Fatih Sultan Mehmet (Mehmet II), Bayezid II and Kanuni Sultan Suleyman (Suleiman the Magnificent), painted by famous Venetian artists, will be displayed in the exhibition, Ottoman and Iranian miniatures, ceramics, glass works and carpets will be introduced to visitors as well.
The exhibition will stay open till July 8th.
