ANKARA - Rebecca Kimbrell, Economic Officer from the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, said that American consumers purchased special food products increasingly, and thus, Turkish processed food industry could particularly focus on such products.
Delivering a speech at a conference on "New Expansions in Exports to USA, Position of SME's in Global Competition and Finances" held at Turkish-American Association (TAD) in Ankara, Kimbrell said, Turkish ceramic and construction material manufacturers could seize opportunities in construction and alteration sectors in USA.
Underscoring that Turkish companies achieved important successes in USA, Kimbrell noted that there was a remarkable increase in flow of foreign capital to Turkey thanks to the improvement in the country's economy.
Kimbrell who noted that Turkish and American businessmen could make better use of the trade and investment opportunities existing in both countries, also stressed that they aimed to increase the trade between the two countries within this framework.
Pointing to the importance of the "2007 Trade and Investment Framework Agreement Meeting" to be held in Washington D.C. next week as well, Kimbrell said she hoped this meeting would contribute to the development of bilateral investments and commercial relations between Turkey and USA.
