Chief Prosecutor's Office Makes A Decision Not To Prosecute Against Erdogan

ANKARA - The Chief Prosecutor's Office in Ankara has made a decision not to prosecute against Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Acting Chief Prosecutor Hikmet Onen completed his investigation into a speech delivered by Prime Minister Erdogan in Australia on January 14th, 2000.
After examining video shootage of the speech, Onen ruled that the speech did not include any criminal elements.
Earlier, the Chief Prosecutor's Office in Ankara launched an investigation against Prime Minister Erdogan upon more than 10 denouncements over his remarks in Australia in which he allegedly used an honorific title --which can be translated as "esteemed"-- while speaking about Abdullah Ocalan, head of the terrorist organization PKK.
