Transportation Minister Yildirim On Turkey's Technological Vision

ISTANBUL - "We are launching high-speed train era in Turkey," Turkish Transportation Binali Yildirim said on Thursday.
Yildirim made a presentation on Turkey`s technological vision in the meeting of the Independent Industrialists` & Businessmen`s Association (MUSIAD) in Istanbul.
Stating that construction of the Marmaray Project (that would link the European and Asian halves of Istanbul by an undersea rail tunnel) was underway, Yildirim noted that they aimed to inaugurate the undersea rail in 2010. He underlined that this project would make a great contribution to public transportation of Istanbul.
Yildirim remarked, "we will launch test drives of high-speed train between Ankara and Eskisehir this month. Journey time between the two cities will be 60 minutes."
In regard to the e-Government implementations, Yildirim stressed, "we have completed necessary works on the e-Government project. Several public services will be given through internet soon."
