ANKARA - Turkish Foreign Ministry awarded a meritorious service medal to Prof. Dr. Oktay Aslanapa, a prominent Turkish scholar and Islamic art historian, for his outstanding contributions to the promotion of Turkish art and architecture abroad, a statement from the ministry said.
Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul would present Aslanapa his shield and attestation at a ceremony on Friday at the State Guesthouse in Ankara, the statement added.
