ANKARA - Turkey has sent humanitarian aid to Liberia, Mozambique, Madagascar, Afghanistan and Iraq.
Upon a call by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Turkey sent a financial aid worth of 500 thousand USD to be distributed to Iraqi refugees who are living under extremely difficult conditions.
Following the "Liberia Partners` Forum" held in Washington D.C. on February 13th-14th aiming at making a contribution to social and economic development of Liberia, Turkey sent a humanitarian aid of 100 thousand USD to this country through the World Health Organization (WHO).
Turkey sent 40 thousand USD to Mozambique and 20 thousand USD to Madagascar following the floods triggered by torrential rains in those countries.
Turkey also sent a ten-member health team, 800 blankets, 80 tents and 80 kitchen sets to Afghanistan on April 4th after landslides and floods hit that country.
Meanwhile, Turkey will dispatch a financial aid of 100 thousand USD to Solomon Islands following the earthquake and tsunami disasters on April 2nd and 3rd.
In line with the United Nations World Food Program (WFP), Turkey is planning to send a humanitarian aid of 100 thousand USD to North Korea.
