Eker: Bird Flu Quarantine Was Lifted As Of Today"

DIYARBAKIR - "Quarantine measures against bird flu were lifted as of today in the country," Turkish Agriculture & Rural Affairs Minister Mehmet Mehdi Eker said on Thursday.
Delivering a speech in a meeting in Diyarbakir on irrigation in Southeast Anatolia Project (GAP) region, Eker recalled that bird flu was earlier detected in Gercus town of southeastern city of Batman and Bismil town of Diyarbakir.
"Quarantine measures against bird flu were lifted as of today. Measures are over. There is no problem in regard to the disease in Turkey," Eker underlined.
