ANKARA - German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer said on Thursday that Germany would continue to support Turkey's European Union (EU) process.
Fischer was received by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan before he departed from Turkey.
Stressing the importance of steps which Turkey took in EU process, Fischer said it was even impossible to imagine them two years ago.
Fischer said this dynamism had to be continued, adding that this dynamism would be very influential on EU member countries.
Stating that the EU was going through a difficult period, Fischer said Turkey should not step back from the reforms and continue its dynamism.
Fischer said positive developments in human rights, cultural rights and dialogue with minorities would have positive effects on EU, stating that punishment of torturers would have an important effect on Europe.
