MUGLA - Ahmet Urkay, who collected a number of antique and local carpets while working as a carpet dealer in the popular resort town of Marmaris 40 years ago, has been displaying his collection in a museum he opened in 2005.
In an exclusive interview with the A.A, Urkay said that "Armet Urkay Carpet Museum" was one of the biggest private museums in Turkey.
"There are 2 thousand works of art such as antique carpets, manuscript Korans, weapons, daggers and embroidered cloths on display in the museum. So far, more than 2 thousand people have visited the museum," he added.
