COLOGNE - Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul introduced Wednesday a system which was expected to provide online consular services for more than 4.8 million Turkish citizens living abroad.
The system, called "e-consulate", was initially set up at the Turkish Consulate to Chicago for Turks living in north America, Gul said.
"The system worked well there and we move it on to Europe and other continents," Gul added.
Gul also said that system would reduce paper work and save time in consular services, 85 percent of which could be carried out over the internet.
