ADANA - The love story of Cafer Gultekin, an 18-year-old boy from southern Turkey, and a 16-year-old German girl with itnitials S.N.L. is moving towards a happy ending, as the German father files an invitation for Gultekin today.
Father of Cafer, Abdulaziz Gultekin, was invited to the German Consulate in southern city of Adana where he read a statement from S.N.L. who even left her family in Hamburg to see her boyfriend in Adana whom she met during 2006 World Cup events.
"I cannot imagine a world without Cafer" says the German girl whose father will file an invitation for bringing Cafer to Germany today. S.N.L. even left her family in Hamburg, to meet Cafer in Adana, however she was handed over to her family by Interpol.
Father Gultekin who was touched by the young girl`s words, says he sees S.N.L. as his 6th child. Abdulaziz Gultekin said her father gave permission for a marriage.
"At this stage we expect help from the authorities to stop the yearning between two lovers," he said. The couple makes telephone calls at least 10 times a day and they also talk through the Internet, says father Gultekin.
On the other hand, Germany`s honorary counsel in Adana Teyfik Kisacik said he wants to witness the wedding, adding relations between the two countries will strengthen with such love bonds.
Cafer Gultekin went to Germany for World Cup 2006 finals and to attend a tournament held among street children and organized by Street Children Association in Adana. The team was invited to a school in Hamburg, where S.N.L. and Cafer met.
