ANKARA - Blacksea Naval Co-operation Task Group`s (BLACKSEAFOR) April 2007 maneuvers will be carried out in ports of Burgas (Bulgaria), Constanta(Romania) and Istanbul, between April 6th-24th.
According to a statement issued from the Turkish Naval Forces,`TCG Kemalreis` frigate will partake in the operations.
Under the exercise, concept documents on peace protection, NBC defense, engagement rules and naval training, as well as new system and naval capabilities will be tested. Also a joint training with Turkish naval units (that participate in Operation Blacksea Harmony) will be carried out, in the fringe of tactical maneuver and combat trainings.
The Black Sea Naval Co-operation Task Group was created in early 2001 under the leadership of Turkey, with the participation of all other Black Sea littoral states, namely Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Russia and Georgia.
The BLACKSEAFOR founding agreement was signed in Istanbul on 2 April 2001.
The original purpose of BLACKSEAFOR was to promote security and stability in the Black Sea and beyond, strengthen friendship and good neighborly relations among regional States, and increase interoperability among those states` naval forces.
