ANKARA - Jazz fans in Ankara will get a chance to see Karin Allyson and her band and virtuosi violin performer of the Jazz fusion genre Jean-luc Ponty and band at the Ankara International Music Festival.
Karin Allyson regarded by the New York Times as "one of the most charismatic individuals of our time," will perform her songs that depict emotions on the purest form for jazz lovers at the festival tomorrow.
On April 7th, Jean-Luc Ponty will perform with William Lecomte on bass guitar, Thierry Aprino on drums and with Taffa Cisse on percussions at MEB Conference Hall.

Incorporating a wide range of genres from blues to contemporary pop and American Songbook in her music style, Allyson is said to set apart from her likes by her "unique ability to express deepest emotions with little plays."
Allyson was nominated for Grammy award this year at "best vocal jazz album" category with with her tenth album "Footprints" and is regarded as a popular and praiseworthy performer of Jazz music.

Jean-Luc Ponty is the first Jazz violinist ever whose performance was regarded as impressive as a saxophone performance by music critics. Ponty had learned playing the violin from his father and piano from his mother and after completing his classic music education he had started playing for an important symphony orchestra.
Ponty who has always been the center of attraction with his revolutionary approach and vision, plays all the instruments personally in some of his recordings.
