Justice & Development Party`s Central Executive Board, which convened under the chairmanship of Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan yesterday, decided to announce the name of party`s candidate for the presidential election on April 18th, right after Erdogan`s return from a visit to Germany.
According to Abdullah Karakus from Milliyet daily, the board decided to make several changes in AKP`s timetable at yesterday`s meeting. AKP`s Central Executive Board meeting which was previously scheduled to be held on April 6th was postponed to April 18th within this framework. Moreover, the talks with MPs which were planned to be held this week, would take place next week.
Besides, Erdogan will gather the party`s provincial chairmen and make a final assessment on April 11th, Milliyet writes.
By this way, Erdogan, who will be in Germany when the presidential election process starts on April 16th, decided to announce the prospective candidate after his return to Turkey, the daily affirms.
