ANKARA - The Treasury Undersecretariat has said that the meetings held under the seventh review of the economic program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) had focused on progresses recorded in public finance in 2003 and program in 2004.
Releasing a statement on Wednesday, the Treasury Undersecretariat said that developments in banking, privatization, public incomes and expenditures management and other structural reforms under the economic program and the 2004 year structural reform program had also been discussed in meetings.
Noting that impacts of increase in minimum wage and pensions on the 2004 year budget had been discussed, it said that compromise had been reached with the IMF on budget expenses cut to meet the burden of increase in minimum wage and pensions on public finance in 2004.
It added that studies on possible deviations from the 2004 year income projections under the 2003 year income realizations and measures in field of public finance that would compensate such deviations were under way to reach the 6.5 percent primary budget target.
