ALEPPO - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Tuesday that his talks with Syrian President Bashar al-Asad covered a wide range of matters such as cooperation in energy, recent regional developments concerning Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Lebanon and Iraq.
"There is the natural gas issue and we are thinking of jointly building a dam on Orontes River," Erdogan told reporters after his meeting with al-Asad.
Erdogan also hailed good relations with its southern neighbor with which Turkey once was on the brink of war on several disputed matters.
"Since we came to power, we have always said that Turkey would never be on the side on hatred and animosity. Problems between our nations have been settled by a peaceful and positive approach both on Turkey's and Syria's part," Erdogan said.
