LEFKOSA - Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) wants a settlement based on UN parameters and political equality of the two parties on the island, said TRNC PM Ferdi Sabit Soyer.
Meeting members of the British House of Lords, Soyer noted that the Greek Cypriots have made insolvability a policy, when Turkish Cypriots are eager to find a solution to Cyprus problem.
On the other hand, members of the British House of Lords supported direct flights to TRNC, and Lord Ahmet said that Turkish Cypriots living in Britain have assumed important roles in economic, social and political life of this country.
Ahmet noted that these people want direct flights to TRNC, and are supporting TRNC.
Ahmet, who visited East Mediterranean University, stated that he signed a letter with two other lords in which they demanded that TRNC universities should be a part of EU universities system.
