ANKARA - "I hope my visit will contribute to boost cooperation between Turkey and Syria; to restore stability in our region, as well as to develop our relations," Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters at Ankara`s Esenboga Airport prior to his departure for Syria where he will attend the inauguration of international Aleppo Stadium as the guest of Syrian Prime Minister Muhammad Naji al-Utri.
Erdogan said that he will hold a meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Asad, and they will assess relations between Turkey and Syria, as well as regional relations. Erdogan added that he will also meet Syrian PM al-Utri and discuss political, commercial, economic and cultural relations as well as energy and security issues.
Erdogan noted that Turkish soccer team Fenerbahce will play a friendly match with Syrian Al-Ittihad team on the occasion of inauguration of Aleppo Stadium.
Recalling that he will attend the inauguration ceremony, Erdogan said that he will watch the match together with al-Asad and al-Utri.
