21.4 Million Foreign Tourists To Visit Turkey In 2007

BURSA - "We expect 21.4 million foreign tourists to visit Turkey in 2007," said Oktay Varlier, chairman of Tourism Investors` Association.
Varlier told the A.A correspondent on Tuesday that there are positive signals that there would be a remarkable hike in bookings from European countries for hotels in Turkey this year.
"Turkey needs a more effective promotion policy. Long-term campaigns should be held to boost the country`s image. On the other hand, there is a notable rise in the budget of Culture & Tourism Ministry for promoting Turkey in 2007," he noted.
Varlier added that there was a more positive international conjuncture for Turkey this year.
