ANKARA - A parliamentary delegation of German Greens Party members led by Rainder Steenblock, spokesman on European Affairs of his party, paid a visit to Ziyaeddin Akbulut, Chairman of Interior Affairs Commission of Turkish Parliament.
Akbulut said at the meeting that Turkey is focused on EU membership, noting that Turkey would fulfill its obligations in its EU process. Akbulut asked Germany to support his country in this process. Akbulut also underscored Greek Cypriot administration`s obstructive attitude regarding Cyprus problem.
Responding to a question by German MP Silke Stokar on article 301 of Turkish Penal Code, Akbulut said annulment of 301st article is not considered by Turkey. Stating that some European countries have similar articles, "our government prepares a draft and article 301 will be changed," he added.
