ANKARA - Growth in gross national product was recorded as 6 percent in 2006, announced Turkish Board of Statistics (TUIK) on Monday. On the other hand, gross domestic product rose 6.1 percent last year.
TUIK noted that GNP increased 4.6 percent and GDP rose 5.2 percent in the last quarter of 2006.
In 2005, GNP growth was 7.6 percent and GDP 7.4.
Last year, Turkey's GNP reached 399.6 billion and GDP 400.04 billion USD.
Meanwhile, growth target for 2006 was set as 5 percent.
