TURKISH RIFLE USED WITH JOYSTICK
Turkish Military Electronic Industry (ASELSAN) tested the STAMP rifle with success on Sunday. STAMP rifles will be used by coast guard boats.

COSTI: "I WORKED AS A MILITANT TO HELP TURKEY ENTER EU"
CEO of Onduline Eurasia Group and former member of the French Parliament Albert Costi told on Sunday that he works as a militant to help Turkey enter the European Union (EU). "If Turkey does not get tired in the negotiations process, it will definitely succeed," said Costi.

Turkish people's vision regarding President Ahmet Necdet Sezer surfaced with the survey carried out in 32 cities with the participation of 2,380 people. Majority of people like Sezer and find him successful.
64.8 percent of people answer "yes" to the question "did you like Sezer?"
The citizens who are educated and living in urban areas like Sezer more.
42.5 percent of those who say "I would give my vote to Justice and Development Party (AKP)" say they like Sezer.
The most appreciated characteristic of Sezer is his modesty.
63.5 percent of people say "Sezer is successful."

TMSF CONFISCATED SABAH AND ATV
Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) seized the control of 63 companies of Dinc Bilgin and Merkez group, which operate in media sector. TMSF determined that cooperation agreements between Dinc Bilgin and Turgay Ciner are kept from the Fund, and confiscated the companies.
Yavuz Onursal was appointed as the administrator of Media group.

The note which was sent from Trabzon to Istanbul Security Department wrote every detail before the assassination of Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink. Istanbul Governor's Office gave permission for an investigation on Intelligence Department Director Ilhan Guler who did not take measures and not convey the note (sent from Trabzon) to Istanbul Security Department Director Celallettin Cerrah. The details of the note (which was sent 11 months before the assassination) are: "Yasin Hayal hates Armenians. He is planning to stage important attacks in Istanbul. He will kill Hrant Dink. Previously he said he would stage a bomb attack on McDonald's and he did." It was stated that the note coming from Trabzon shows target person as well as the assailant, but no measures were taken.

TMSF SEIZES SABAH AND ATV
Savings Deposits Insurance Fund (TMSF) took the management of media companies belonging to Turgay Ciner after its secret partnership documents were revealed.
The secret protocols proving that Dinc Bilgin, the former owner of the group, was the partner of Turgay Ciner, caused seizure. Bilgin gave the two secret agreements, dated June 12th, 2002 and August 8th, 2002 to TMSF last week. The TMSF statement on the matter said the Fund was misled in the proceedings, indicating that, "sales and transfer agreements of the media companies of Bilgin Group to Ciner became invalid."

BAYKAL: "AKP WILL SUPPORT ME"
April 1st Fool's Day of Deniz Baykal, the leader of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), was about presidential election. Speaking at a live TV program, Baykal said, "PM Erdogan telephoned me yesterday and wanted us to determine a candidate. We have determined a candidate. AKP will support us. The crisis is over."
Baykal later said he made this joke with the wish of those who work at the TV station.

TMSF SEIZES
Savings Deposits Insurance Fund (TMSF) said it was revealed that secret agreements were signed between Dinc Bilgin and Turgay Ciner. The TMSF statement said the agreements in question made the sales and transfer protocols invalid.
The statement said TMSF seized the partnership rights, management and control of the Medya Group (Dinc Bilgin Group) and Merkez Group companies.

ERDOGAN TAKES THE PULSE
Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Deniz Baykal, who evaluated Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's address to the nation, stated that, "it is very clear that he wants to be elected as the president. He endeavours to take the pulse."
Baykal said, "electors of central right and central left should work in solidarity against Justice & Development Party (AKP)."

TURKS ARE BAD AGAIN!
Greek government could not change the 'bad Turk' image in school books.
Greek government retreated from its efforts to moderate the 'bad Turk' image in history books, following reactions from nationalists and the Church as well as from intellectuals. Greek Education Minister Yiannakou-Koutsikou said they will revise the book and make extensions to it.
Head of the National Education Council Prof. Veremis said "I do not understand the reason of showing Turks as monsters." He added that they themselves also did monstrous things in history.

TMSF SEIZED ATV AND SABAH
Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) confiscated 63 companies of Merkez group that operate in the media sector, on the grounds that Dinc Bilgin and Turgay Ciner signed a protocol without letting TMSF know about it.
"It is documented that Dinc Bilgin and Turgay Ciner act collectively in the media sector, make fictitious transactions and mislead TMSF. In such case their protocols that they sign with us are invalid" said TMSF in a statement.

Turkish FM Abdullah Gul will leave for Germany tomorrow. He will inaugurate 'e-consulate' for Turkish citizens living in Germany. Turkish expatriates will carry out their proceedings on cyber environment.

ERDOGAN: A GIANT IS AWAKING
Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan who inaugurated 212 facilities and investments in central Anatolian city of Eskisehir said, "Turkey is rising." Noting that they fulfilled this change together with people, Erdogan said, "if previous administrations listened to the people, Turkey did not experience those dark days."

TURKEY SETS ITS OWN EU CALENDAR
Turkey is drawing its own path after its entry talks with the EU were frozen on 8 chapters as ports and airports were not opened to Greek Cypriot traffic. Ankara, which set its own reform calendar without waiting for the EU, determined an important target to complete political criteria in EU acquis. Legal arrangements regarding political criteria will be completed till October 2009.
