ANKARA - Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler said on Tuesday that continuation of oil exploration studies in north of Black Sea, adding, ''we hope to give you the good news in December.''
Holding a press conference in Ankara on exploration activities in north of the Black Sea, Guler said that the Turkish Petroleum Corp (TPAO) and the British Petroleum (BP) had been carrying out very good studies in the Caspian basin.
Guler said that the Operation Group including the Turkish Pipeline Transportation Corp (Botas) and the BP would finish the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline project in time.
Guler stated that under an agreement signed with Greece, also the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum (BTE) natural gas pipeline project would be completed simultaneously with the BTC and natural gas would be carried to Europe.
Stressing that they attributed great importance to oil and natural gas exploration studies in Turkey, Guler said that an exploration study would start soon in a field near Akcakoca town of northwestern Duzce province.
