ANKARA - President Pervez Musharraf of Pakistan arrived in Ankara on Monday on an official visit.
Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul, State Minister Mehmet Aydin, Ankara Governor Yahya Gur, Ankara Mayor Melih Gokcek and Pakistani Ambassador to Turkey Sher Afghan Khan welcomed President Musharraf and his wife Sehba Musharraf at Ankara's Esenboga Airport.
Tight security measures have been taken in and around the airport during the welcoming ceremony.
President Musharraf will visit the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of modern and secular Republic of Turkey, tomorrow.
An official welcoming ceremony will take place at the Cankaya Presidential Palace in honor of President Musharraf.
After holding a tete-a-tete meeting, President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and President Musharraf will preside meetings between Turkish and Pakistani delegations.
Later, President Musharraf will address the Parliamentary General Assembly, and receive Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
President Sezer will host a dinner in honor of President Musharraf.
