VIENNA - Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc arrived in Vienna on Monday for a three-day official visit as the guest of Austrian Parliament Speaker Andreas Khol.
Arinc is accompanied by Justice and Development Party (AK Party) deputies Suat Kilic, Ali Osman Sali, Ibrahim Ozdogan and CHP deputies Yasar Tuzun and Ahmet Sirri Ozbek during his visit to Austria.
Arinc and the accompanying parliamentary delegation will get a briefing at Turkish Embassy in Vienna in the afternoon and later he will come together with local politicians of Turkish origin and businessmen, bankers, tourism officials, trade unionists, artists and students representing the Turkish society in a meeting.
Arinc will meet with Austrian Parliament Speaker Khol on January 20. After that, a meeting in which Arinc, Kohl, the accompanying parliamentary delegation and members of Austria-Turkey Interparliamentary Friendship Group members will participate will take place. Later Arinc and Kohl will hold a joint news conference.
Parliament Speaker Arinc will separately meet with Austrian Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel and Austrian Deputy Parliament Speaker Heinz Fischer after luncheon which will be hosted by Kohl in honor of Turkish delegation.
Arinc will also meet with Peter Schieder, the Chairman of Austrian Foreign Policy Commission and the President of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly and commission members. Arinc will have a meeting with Austrian Foreign Minister Benita Ferrero Waldner.
Kohl will host a reception in honor of Arinc and the delegation on Tuesday.
Arinc will be received by Austrian President Thomas Klestil on January 21. Arinc who will also have meetings with some Austrian journalists, will leave Austria for Turkey on January 22.
