ANKARA - Foreign Trade Undersecretary Tuncer Kayalar returned on Sunday from Morocco.
A statement of Foreign Trade Undersecretariat said that Kayalar paid a five-day visit to Morocco to increase cooperation opportunities in contracting and consultancy services and to hold meetings on projects to be carried out in coming days.
The statement noted that Kayalar and accompanying delegation met with Moroccan Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister in Charge of Urbanization and Housing, Minister of External Trade, Secretary General of Urbanization and Housing Ministry, Secretary General of Minister of Tourism, Secretary General of Equipment and Transport Ministry, and representatives of public and private sectors in Rabat, Casablanca and Fes.
Kayalar told reporters after he returned to Turkey that two countries agreed to improve cooperation in contracting and consultancy services.
Foreign Trade Undersecretary Kayalar recalled that Turkish contracting companies had undertaken important projects, especially transportation projects, in Morocco in recent years.
Kayalar said that Turkish and Moroccan contracting companies reached a pre-agreement on construction of 5,000 social dwellings in Fes.
In his meetings, two countries agreed that Morocco would make use of Turkey's experience and know-how about housing, tourism and motorway and that Turkey would take place in such projects, Kayalar stated.
Kayalar said that two countries decided to form a working group to improve cooperation in contracting and consultancy services.
Moroccan External Trade Minister would pay a visit to Turkey between January 26 and 29, Kayalar emphasized.
Kayalar added that two countries would sign free trade agreement while Turkish-Moroccan Joint Economic Commission and Turkish-Moroccan Business Council would meet during the mentioned visit.
