Gul: Terrorists Still Exist In North Of Iraq

ANKARA - Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said on Saturday that members of the terrorist KONGRA-GEL organization, the continuation of PKK-KADEK, still existed in the north of Iraq.
Gul delivered a speech on developments in Turkish foreign policy in a conference held by One Eurasia Foundation and Eurasian Strategic Researches Center in Istanbul.
Foreign Minister Gul said, ''as Iraq has gained its independence and as it can protect its own borders, it should not permit terrorist organizations within its territory.''
''The current biggest political authority in Iraq is the United States. This issue is undoubtedly under responsibility of the United States. We haven't got any satisfactory results yet. Turkey's determination is very certain. As how Turkey doesn't permit a terrorist organization which is the enemy of the United States, the United States should not shelter a group which is declared as a terrorist organization by Turkey in the territory of Iraq, which is under its control at the moment,'' Gul added.
