Appeal Hearing To Be Held On May 2nd In Semdinli Case

ANKARA - The appeal hearing of case regarding incidents in Semdinli town of the eastern city of Hakkari will start at the Supreme Court of Appeals Criminal Law Chamber no: 9 on May 2nd.
Earlier, the High Criminal Court in the eastern city of Van sentenced non-commissioned officers Ali Kaya and Ozcan Ildiniz to 39 years in prison on charges of "murder, attempted murder and forming a criminal gang".
On November 9th, 2005, a hand grenade was hurled into a bookstore belonged to Seferi Yilmaz, in Semdinli, killing a person. The Semdinli attack set off days of rioting that left four dead.
