SKOPJE - Turkish Foreign Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul and his Macedonian counterpart Antonio Milososki have signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between training centers of Turkish and Macedonian foreign ministries and an agreement on environmental cooperation.
Holding a joint news conference, Gul said, "Turkey is one of the first countries that recognized Macedonia with its constitutional name after it acquired its independence. Our political, economic and cultural relations are further improving day by day."
Gul extended Turkey`s support to economic and democratic reform process in Macedonia.
"We encourage Turkish businessmen to invest in Macedonia. We believe that such investments will make a valuable contribution to Macedonian government`s efforts to solve the problem of unemployment," he said.
Meanwhile, Macedonian Foreign Minister Milososki said in his part that the bilateral relations between Turkey and Macedonia were based on mutual respect and confidence.
He highlighted importance of boosting economic and commercial relations.
Milososki also thanked Turkey for supporting Macedonia`s membership to NATO.
