ISTANBUL - State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said Wednesday that Turkey was moving forward to reach a 100 billion USD target in exports in 2007, but added that the country needed a monthly rise of 17.2 in exports to achieve that goal.
"I see that coming, although at a slower pace," Tuzmen told an Istanbul seminar on Turquality, a branding program to promote Turkish excellence in apparel production and marketing.
"We have been taking significant steps to become a major player in international markets with a vision to create ten global brand names within ten years," he said.
The first brand development program ever devised with Turkish state support, Turquality provides 50 percent financial support to 33 Turkish brands from different sectors to support their efforts to become worldwide marks.
