ISTANBUL - "The important thing is the development of projects which will enable Iraq to attract investments," Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said on Wednesday.
Taking the floor at a seminar titled "Turkish-Iraqi Partnership" in Istanbul, Tuzmen noted that all regional countries should support Iraqi people in their efforts for peace and stability.
Tuzmen underlined that Turkey was eager to contribute to settlement of peace and stability in this country.
Stating that despite negative circumstances that existed in Iraq during the last four years, there had been progress in economic relations between Turkey and Iraq, Tuzmen said that trade volume between these two countries amounted to 3 billion USD last year.
On the other hand, Iraqi Planning & Development Minister Ali Baban said that there were important opportunities to boost relations between Turkey and Iraq, stressing that Turkey would play an important role in rebuilding of Iraq.
Baban added that Iraqi authorities were eager to benefit from Turkey`s experiences on economy.
