ANKARA - Foreign exchange deposit accounts at banks with letter of credit and super foreign exchange accounts increased 669 million USD to 71 billion 963 million USD between December 26, 2003 and January 2, 2004.
According to Central Bank's provisional statistics, total foreign exchange deposit accounts at banks was 71 billion 294 million U.S. dollars on December 26.
Foreign exchange deposits increased 459 million U.S. dollars to 54 billion 537 million U.S. dollars in the same period.
Total internal foreign exchange deposits increased 440 million U.S. dollars to 51 billion 847 million U.S. dollars while external foreign exchange deposits increased 19 million U.S. dollars to 2 billion 690 million U.S. dollars in the same period.
Meanwhile, total foreign exchange deposits at the interbank market increased 62 million U.S. dollars to 660 million U.S. dollars.
Foreign exchange deposits with letter of credit and super foreign exchange accounts decreased 10 million U.S. dollars to 17 billion 416 million U.S. dollars between January 2-9, 2004.
