ANKARA - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) team led by Turkey Desk Chief Lorenzo Giorgianni, departed from Turkey on Tuesday after concluding its talks, sources indicated on Wednesday.
In a written statement, IMF Senior Resident Representative in Turkey Hugh Bredenkamp said the IMF delegation had meetings with the Turkish executives on the economic program within the framework of the 3-year stand-by deal.
The statement confirmed that the team had reached agreement on measures to keep Turkish government spending in line with programme targets.
The IMF delegation, in its meetings with the Turkish Central Bank executives, approved the strategy aiming to control inflation, as well as the actual monetary policy.
``The executives agreed on strategy pertaining to social security reform and next step to be taken in banking reform," the statement added.
