Prime Minister Erdogan Due To Saudi Arabia

ANKARA - Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will go to Saudi Arabia on January 17 to join Jeddah Economic Forum.
A statement of the Prime Ministry Press Center said on Thursday that theme of this year's forum was ''Achieving Accelerated Growth.''
The statement noted that hundreds of leading businessmen, officials and academicians were expected to attend the forum.
Prime Minister Erdogan will address opening remarks of a session to be held on the second day of Jeddah Economic Forum.
According to the statement, trade volume between Turkey and Saudi Arabia was around 1,34 billion U.S. dollars in 2002.
Turkey's exports to Saudi Arabia were around 600 million and its imports from this country was around 800 million U.S. dollars.
Foreign trade balance suffers at least 200 million U.S. dollars of deficit every year.
Efforts are under way to close the deficit by more exports.
