ISTANBUL - State Minister Besir Atalay said on Wednesday that Omani government officials were very pleased with Turkish companies which would get more business there.
State Minister Atalay and the accompanying delegation who were in Oman for Turkish-Omani Joint Economic Commission (JEC) meeting, returned to Turkey the same day.
Speaking at Ataturk Airport, Atalay said that many relations between the two countries were revised during his visit.
Noting that they reviewed the Economic, Commercial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation Protocol with Omani JEC Co-Chairman, Atalay said that they also signed agreements on standards, environment, tourism, education and archives.
Atalay noted that he met with Omani Culture, State, Commerce and Economy Ministers and also Omani Prime Minister, adding that they exchanged views to further develop the bilateral relations during the meetings.
Atalay said that the regional policy of Turkey also came to agenda during his meeting with Omani Prime Minister, adding that ''they told me that Oman appreciated the policy pursued by Turkey and noted that they shared the same sensitivity with us regarding the territorial integrity of Iraq.''
Atalay stressed that Turkish businessmen and construction sector undertook important business in that country, adding that ''Omani government officials are very pleased with Turkish companies. From now on the volume of our companies' getting business will increase in Oman.''
Atalay remarked that he had a meeting with Omani businessmen and investors under the leadership of Omani Trade and Industry Chamber, adding that he explained the investment conditions in Turkey and called them to make investment in Turkey.
Atalay stressed that the bilateral relations would further improve after his visit and a business council would be formed soon, adding that Oman was very positive and willing regarding to improve relations with Turkey.
