SOFIA - Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan came to Sofia, Bulgaria on Wednesday on a two-day official visit as the guest of Bulgarian Finance Minister Milen Velchev.
Unakitan had a meeting with Velchev. Stating that bilateral relations were reviewed, Unakitan said that Velchev and he exchanged views on initiatives which were necessary for further improvement of economic cooperation in the meeting.
Stressing that relations between the two countries were improving in every field, Unakitan said the two countries should further improve economic relations.
Unakitan said that customs gates would be modernized and stated that they planned to open new border gates.
He said that Turkey always supported Bulgaria on international platform and added that they would continue to support it till the very end.
Velchev said that they reached consensus on a new customs gate's starting to serve between Hamzabeyli and Lesovo and facilitating passages between gates of the two countries in the meeting.
