ANKARA - Inflow of direct foreign capital has reached a record level of 6 billion USD in January 2007.
Direct foreign capital amounted for 452 million USD in the same period previous year.
Sources said that such an increase in inflow of direct foreign capital would have a positive impact on employment and sustainability of finance of current account deficit.
Inflow of direct foreign capital rose 239 percent from 2.8 billion USD in 2004 to 9.6 billion USD in 2005. It became 19.7 billion USD in 2006.
Sources said that this year's direct foreign capital would exceed the amount in 2006.
On the other hand, banking, telecommunication, chemistry, real estate services, joint venture and mineral goods became the sectors drawing the highest amount of foreign capital.
