Rate Of Unemployment Drops To 10.5 Percent

ANKARA - Rate of unemployment dropped to 10.5 percent in November-December 2006-January 2007 period over to the the same period in 2005.
In November-December 2005-January 2006, rate of unemployment had been 11.2 percent.
The Turkish Board of Statistics (TUIK) announced results of the Household Labor Force Survey for 2006.
According to the results, labor force participation rate was calculated as 47.5 percent.
Rate of unemployment became 12.5 percent in urban areas and 7.5 percent in rural areas.
