LEFKOSA - Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Rauf Denktas said on Monday that he was exerting efforts and holding meetings for Cyprus not to be sacrificed in vain.
Stating that work on Cyprus which was made in Turkey would also be reviewed in the meeting of National Security Council (NSC), Denktas said that a frame would appear soon.
Denktas said that meeting should be held by taking into account existing facts in Cyprus.
''There are two states, two nations in Cyprus,'' he said and noted that there should be an agreement which would not shake confidence of Turkish Cypriot people.
Denktas said that Greek Cypriot administration passed laws from its parliament with view that ''Greek Cypriot people was a part of Hellenism''. ''We are also an inseparable part of Turkey,'' Denktas noted.
Stating that Greek Cypriot administration always sit at the negotiation table to get something and that's why no result was reached so far, he underlined that both sides should have a common view for a solution in Cyprus. Denktas added that Turkey was exerting efforts and holding necessary meetings for solution.
