LEFKOSA - Party Assembly of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) has approved unanimously the coalition government protocol in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Speaking after the party assembly meeting on Sunday night, CTP leader Mehmet Ali Talat said that the assembly authorized the CTP's Central Executive Board to determine the CTP members of the cabinet.
Talat said that they would announce the cabinet list after submitting it to the President.
Talat stated that the government would give priority to social interests rather than personal or organizational interests, adding that the government which was for social reconciliation and solution had the mission of concluding Cyprus issue until May 1, 2004 through negotiations on the basis of Annan plan. Talat stressed that one of the main principles of the government was to prepare Turkish Cypriot side to EU norms. Talat noted in this regard the support of non-governmental organizations to the government was very important.
DP Party Assembly also approved the protocol of the coalition government by majority on Sunday.
Talat is expected to submit the cabinet list to TRNC President Rauf Denktas today.
