Tuzmen: There Is Nothing To Worry About

ANKARA - Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said, "there is nothing to worry about" regarding the recent fluctuations in foreign currencies.
Minister Tuzmen answered questions from the press on the recent developments in the foreign currencies after the Turkey-Sudan Joint Economic Commission meeting in Ankara today.
Stating that the overvalued Turkish currency could move towards its normal value, Tuzmen said this trend should be monitored. Tuzmen emphasized that fluctuations were natural as long as they were not major ones.
Tuzmen pointed out that these fluctuations were triggered by external influences and as long as fluctuations in the world continued, its effects would be felt in Turkey.
"The movement of the overvalued Turkish lira towards its normal value will positively contribute to exports and will force us to make imports more wisely and appropriately," underscored Tuzmen.
