ANKARA - The World Bank Turkey Country Office announced the winners of the Small Grants Program (SmGP).
Within the framework of the SmGP, grants up to 5,000 USD will be distributed for projects submitted by non governmental organizations dealing with social matters, particularly the topic of youth.
The bank allocated a total of 35,000 USD for projects supporting 2007`s theme of "Civic Engagement for the Empowerment Youth".
SmGP intends to support the empowerment of youth groups and young people to have greater ownership of development processes, making these processes more inclusive and equitable in its 7th round of grants.

Among the 101 project proposals submitted to the Evaluation Committee, these are the NGOs and projects that will receive grants from World Bank in 2007:
International Blue Crescent Foundation (Ankara): Supporting Self-Confidence Among the Convict Young People and Training for Stress Management (5,143 USD)
Kutahya Youth Club (Kutahya): Information on EU Education and Youth Programs (5,143 USD)
Association for Promoting Dissemination, Implementing and Monitoring Children`s Rights (Ankara): Protecting and Improving the Rights of Children and Youth to Direct Access to Knowledge (5,143 USD)
Association of the Social Development and Gender Equality Policies Center (Ankara): Including the Young Women in University Clubs into NGOs (4,193 USD)
Human Health and Education Foundation (Istanbul): Voluntary Labor, Qualified Working Project (5,093 USD)
Batman CATOM Association (Batman): Empowering Young Women (5,143 USD)
Chaos Gay and Lesbian Cultural Researches and Solidarity Association (Istanbul): Informing Young People on Discrimination Based-on Sexual Choices (5,143 USD)
