ANKARA - Turkish MFA spokesman Levent Bilman confirmed press reports indicating that President Ahmet Necdet Sezer vetoed appointment of five deputy undersecretaries at the Ministry.
Speaking in a weekly press briefing about the issue, Bilman said, "it is true that Mr. President did not countersigned a decree on high-level appointments in our ministry".
He refused to make further statements as it is an administrative problem.
According to press reports, President Sezer vetoed a decree regarding the appointment of five ambassadors as deputy undersecretaries at the ministry, without citing any reasons.
Names of the ambassadors who were vetoed are: Ugur Dogan, Haydar Berk, Feridun Sinirlioglu, Unal Cevikoz and Selim Kuneralp.
