Project On Turkish - German Police Cooperation

ANKARA - Twinning project on cooperation between Turkish Security Department and German police within the scope of Turkey`s adjustment to EU acquis has been completed, stated Turkish Security Department deputy-DG Mehmet Tokgoz, on Wednesday.
The project is on anti-money laundering and fight against financing of terrorism.
Tokgoz noted that Turkish Security Department is rigorously working on studies regarding the chapter heading justice, freedom & security (concerning Turkey`s EU accession process). He stressed that fight against procurement of financial resources by crime gangs, as well as financing of terrorism, are very important.
Noting that 953 personnel were trained within the scope of twinning project, Tokgoz said that EU provided 1.2 million Euro to support the project.
