DUBAI - State Minister Besir Atalay visited on Saturday the 18th International Trade Fair in Dubai.
Atalay met with the chairmen of firms and received information about their export amount to the United Arab Emirates in his visit to fair in which 23 firms from Turkey attended.
Atalay then visited Dubai World Trade Center and Turkish Consulate General.
Atalay and the accompanying delegation will proceed to Oman and will attend Joint Economic Commission (JEC) meetings as of tomorrow morning.
Turkey-Oman JEC Fourth Term Meeting which will be held in Muscat will last until January 13.
Turkish delegation will be headed by Atalay while Sultanate of Oman National Economy Ministry Secretary General and Oman-Turkey JEC Co-Chairman Nasser al-Khusaibi will chair the Omani delegation.
Existing economic and commercial relations between the two countries will be reviewed and applicable measures on development of bilateral trade will be discussed at the meeting.
The sides will also discuss opportunities of cooperation in fields of free zones, transportation, contracting and consultant services, industry, agriculture, environment, standards, small and medium scale enterprises, culture and education.
Atalay will be received by Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Said Al Said and Deputy Prime Minister Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said. Atalay will also have meetings with Commerce and Industry Minister Maqbul bin Ali bin Sultan, National Economy Minister Ahmad bin Abd al-Nabi al-Makki, State Minister and Muscat Governor Sayyid Al Motassem bin Hemoud Al Busaidi and National Heritage and Culture Minister Haitham bin Tarik Al Said.
At the JEC meeting, the sides will sign agreements on commercial exchange, economic, technical and scientific cooperation, international land transportation and cooperation in protection of environment and a memorandum of understanding between the Exports Promotion Center and the Omani Investments Encouragement Center.
Turkish delegation will return to Turkey on January 14.
